Welcome to Wild Goose Gear’s website! It’s taking us a little while to get here but I’m pleased to say that we’ve finally launched.

At it’s heart Wild Goose Gear aims to help people to enjoy their outdoor adventures by offering affordable, quality products.

By way of introduction to Wild Goose Gear and our website, here are 5 things you should know about us.

1.Passion for the outdoors

I’m Tim the founder of Wild Goose Gear and I love being outdoors. It could be walking, running, hiking, cycling, open water swimming or any other sports which I am happy to have a go at. I am a great believer in the benefits of outdoor activities both for peoples mental and physical health. It’s also a great way to keep families active as well.

And there’s me, Max, Tim’s outdoor partner, although if I’m honest I’m a bit more fussy about my outdoor activities – running (well, if I really have to), swimming (no and no, strictly paddling only – I am a non-swimming labrador and proud of it!), however walking across hills, through forests and generally snuffling about I’m definitely in!

2. Striving to source ethically

We are acutely aware of the harm caused by environmental pollution in particular the major concerns around plastic waste which are being highlighted at the moment. Plastic cups and bottles at outdoor events is a particular bug bear of ours. We know that this issue has to be addressed throughout the life cycle of a product from it manufacture to it’s disposal. We are also concerned to ensure that those making products have a right to a fair living wage and safe working conditions. Our aim is to make Wild Goose Gear a company which supplies products only from ethical sources, ideally in the UK where possible. We are not there yet, but we are determined to make that journey.

3. Informing you about the outdoors

As lovers of the outdoors we also love to keep you informed about what’s happening in the outdoor world. Whether it’s upcoming events, adventurers exploits, how to look after yourself in the great outdoors or current issues we aim to keep you informed with regular blogs and features of interest.

4. Making things easy for you

Of course, we would be daft if we didn’t say we strive to provide great customer service. It’s crucial to what we do. ¬† We also firmly believe that communication is key to customer service.

We have sought to make ordering from the website shop a straightforward process and simple process.

We commit to dispatch order quickly and efficiently  however things will occasionally go wrong. When they do we will respond quickly and find a solution to the problem.

5. Give us your feedback

Yes, we are a fledgling (or perhaps more correctly a gosling!) business. We are taken our first few steps on the journey to one day hopefully flying high with the flock. We are learning all the time and would welcome your feedback on the website, our products so that we can improve. And we are always open to new ideas.

Finally a big thank you to Martin Jarvis at DMJ Computer Services for putting everything together on the website.
